Winter Wheelers
How do you feel about cycling in the cold, dark winter months? Many women are worried about cycling in the dark and intimidated by cycling during frosty periods. However, there are SO many benefits to cycling all throughout the year and we want you to experience those benefits! Come along to our 3-week Winter Wheelers where we will build on your knowledge, skills and confidence to be able to enjoy cycling in the winter. Book onto the whole programme or choose the sessions that suit your needs:
Session 1: Theory
In this session we are covering what you need to do to meet the law, comparison of lights and lumens and other tips and tricks for safe winter riding. This session is indoors in our Hub. Pay what you can £1-5.
Thursday 5th December, 4.30-5.30pm
Session 2: Skills
In this skills session, we’ll head out to our training area to practice how to ride in snowy and icy conditions. The main focus will be on braking and turning techniques. Pay what you can £1-15.
Thursday 12th December, 5.30-7pm
At this session, we’ll head out on a led ride using our lights and building our confidence cycling in the dark. We’ll go through well lit areas and also areas of little light to show you the impact of your bike lights. Pay what you can £1-15.

Winter Wellness Events
Similar to last year, we are running another Winter Wellness programme. These sessions are all about bringing women and families together at a time which can be challenging for many.

Please note events can’t be booked earlier than two month in advance. For the later events, please check back in later to booker your place.
Fun Winter Family Ride
Join us for a fun winter family bike ride to Malls Mire Woods! Bundle up and enjoy a gentle ride and meet other families. We'll make our way to a quiet spot in the woods, where everyone can enjoy a warm hot chocolate break and a play amongst the trees. Perfect for all ages, this outing combines a bit of exercise with a lot of fun, surrounded by nature's winter beauty. It's a great way to spend quality time outdoors together. Bikes, helmets provided - let us know if you need a trailer or kids bike seat.
Saturday 7th December, 10.15-11.45am
This course is offered through the LifeCycle Trust in Balfron. This is a 2-day course that looks at building confidence and resilience through physical, creative and personal development activities. The course is pay what you can £20-70. The course is in Balfron (near Drymen) and transport is not provided but Holly will set up a Whatsapp group and try and arrange some car sharing so if people do not drive/have access to a car then this should not be a problem/barrier. Cycle touring, also known as bicycle touring or bike touring, is a form of self supported travel that involves exploring various destinations using a bike and your own pedal power. Our Cycle Touring programme is designed to inspire and give you the skills to give it a go. Check out our current events below:
Cycle Touring and Exploring - Cycle Touring Stories (Touring Abroad)
Carrying on our theme of sharing our cycle touring stories, Join Eilidh and Tilly, to hear about touring overseas. Eilidh has done 6 big trips in Brazil, Sri Lanka, India, Spain, Scotland, Portugal, and Morocco but explains how she still doesnt feel like a Pro-tourer! Tilly did her first tour as an organised group with Ecotopia In Macadonia and Greece and has since toured in Scandanavia and Germany.

Family-friendly led rides
Experience the joy of cycling together as a family with our Family-Friendly Led Rides! Explore Glasgow, enjoy safe routes, and create lasting memories.
Join us for an exciting journey that promotes healthy habits, and sparks the love for cycling in your family!
Bikes and helmets are provided. The group will go at a gentle pace but you must be able to ride in a straight line.
Learn to ride group lessons
Our group cycling lessons will be available for complete beginners and everyone who wants to get back on a bike after a break.
We will practice balance, pedalling, braking, turning, and all the basics you need to feel the freedom of cycling.
All equipment is provided.
Build your skills for roadside repairs, such as puncture repair, and soar in confidence.
